CLEARWATER, Fla.—Missions leaders of local churches will gather to explore and learn to apply new methods, principles and tools to increase members' personal engagement and effectiveness in outreach at the Missions Leaders Workshop March 15-16 at Heritage United Methodist Church.

"Jesus Himself divinely commissioned the local church to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth,” said Stan Self, The Mission Society’s senior director of church ministry. “This Missions Leaders Workshop will empower those who lead missions in their local churches in the nuts and bolts of mobilizing their congregations to reach their neighborhoods and the world.”

Topics will include engaging the whole church in God’s mission to the world, developing a unique missions plan and strategy tailored for individual churches, building effective partnerships, hosting a church-wide transformational Global Impact Celebration, and fully funding a church missions budget. The group size will be limited to facilitate interaction among the instructor and attendees.

The Missions Leaders Workshop will begin with a 2-5 p.m. session March 15 and continue March 16 at 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Heritage United Methodist Church is located at 2680 Landmark Drive, Clearwater, Fla. 33761. Those interested in participating may contact Beverly Mancuso at 800-478-8963 ext. 9046.
