10.03.2008

Anne Gongwer, a former teacher who has served as a missionary in Ghana for nearly 10 years, just celebrated the opening of the first library in the Ankaase village. The building was dedicated on September 20, 2008. In the service, she handed the keys of the library to Kumasi Bishop Abubekr of the Methodist Church Ghana. National Ghanaians will coordinate the library. People from all over the world donated money for the construction of the library, as well as shipped books to stock its shelves. Anne also coordinates a literacy program in Ankaase, teaching Ghanaians to read in their native language.
