Ghana Water Projects

location-icon
Country: Ghana

More than 40 percent of Ghanaians do not have access to potable water or adequate sanitation. This lack leads directly to waterborne disease and can result in death, especially among children and the aged. Mary Kay Jackson, a civil engineer by training, is working with the Methodist Church Ghana and other organizations to bring potable water to rural communities throughout Ghana.

Projects include drilling boreholes, distributing home-based water treatment systems, and hygiene education. In addition, the link between drinking water and the Living Water of Jesus is used to spread the gospel in target communities.
