Though 70 percent of Spaniards self-identify as Catholic, half of the population never attends church, and nearly 40 percent do not believe there is a God. In this post-Christian country, only one percent of the population is evangelical. Of Spain’s 8,095 municipalities, 7,540 of those have no evangelical or Protestant church.
